Stolen Credit Card
The Mount Pleasant Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the two subjects shown above. The pair are suspected of using stolen credit cards at various locations around Mount Pleasant. They were last seen driving a gold or tan pickup truck.
Anyone who knows the identities of these two suspects is asked to contact Detective Jackson at 843-856-3031 or CJackson@tompsc.com. Felony DUI
Mount Pleasant, SC – On January 7, 2016, at approximately
8:04 p.m., officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to
Highway 17 and Mathis Ferry Road in reference to a collision. The preliminary
investigation reveals that a Jeep Sport Utility Vehicle, driven by Robert Leland,
was heading south on Highway 17 when he disregarded a red light. Robert Leland
struck a 4 door Mercedes who was turning left onto Highway 17 from Mathis Ferry
Road. Robert Leland was found to be under the influence and arrested for 2
counts of Felony DUI. The driver and passenger of the Mercedes were transported
to an area hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Starting on Wednesday, 1/11/17 through Friday, 1/13/17 SCE&G will be performing maintenance work on their service lines at 920 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard Frontage Road located slightly south of the Chick-fil-A restaurant. This work will take place from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm and require a lane closure.
The driving public should use extra caution while driving in this construction zone.

Attempted Armed Robbery
Mount Pleasant, SC – On December 31, 2016, at approximately
6:05 p.m., officers from the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to 774
South Shelmore Blvd. (Pleasant Liquors) regarding an attempted armed robbery.
The suspect came into the store and demanded money from the clerk. When the
clerk advised that she did not have a key, the suspect fired his weapon but the
clerk was not harmed. The suspect is described as a black male who is
approximately 5’4” tall. He was wearing a baseball cap and a dark colored
hoodie sweatshirt.
