Law Enforcement Torch Run
Law Enforcement Officers from across the state are involved in the Torch Run for S pecial Olympics and the Officers from the Lowcountry are no exception . Beginning at 11:00 am on April 30 th , 201 5 Law En forcement Officers will begin an approximately 12 7 mile relay of a Special Olympics T orch from the sands of Sullivan’s Island ’s Station 22 1/2 Street to the steps of the Statehouse in Columbia. Appropriately deemed the Coast to the Capital this event will coincide with relays from other parts of the state and conclude at a press conference on the steps of the Capital on May 1 st , 201 5 announc ing the beginning of the Special Olympic s Summer Games. At 6:00 pm officers will join forces for a 7.5 mile run from the Capital to Fort Jackson where the torch will be carried into the Summer Games.
