National Night Out 2016 Press Release

Mount Pleasant, SC – On August 2 th , 2016 join over 37 million people in 16,124 communities to celebrate America’s National Night Out Against Crime. “This year we are consolidating our resources into one location,” said Inspector Chip Googe. “The event will be in the Target parking lot from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We encourage everyone to stop by and meet some of the officers that patrol their community. ” We will have numerous bureaus on display such as our K9 Officers, Bike Team, SWAT, and Patrol Units. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department will also be on hand with their smoke house that can be used to teach lifesaving skills. Consolidated Dispatch will be have a booth set up to talk about Smart911 . There will be a bicycle raffle, snow cones, a jump castle, dunk tank, pizza, and more!

Car Seat Checkup

        The Mount Pleasant Police Department, Fire Department, and Target are hosting a car seat inspection event where nationally certified technicians will help you properly install your car seat.   Join us at Target located at 1300 Long Grove Drive on July 15th from 9 am until 5 pm. 

Cloned Credit Card Suspects

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify the two suspects pictured above. On June 14, 2016 the suspects pictured used a cloned credit card to purchase items at Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx stores in Mount Pleasant. Anyone with information about these suspects is asked to call Sgt. Salata in the Investigations Bureau at 843-884-4176 or email him at msalata@tompsc.com. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111, submit a tip through our smartphone application, or submit a tip at http://mppdnews.blogspot.com/p/submit-tip.html. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to an arrest.
