Mount Pleasant Police Expand Twitter Use

Mount Pleasant, SC – Mount Pleasant Police Officers assigned to the Social Media Team now have their own accounts to engage the community. “We were looking for a way to encourage more interaction between officers and the community,” says Inspector Chip Googe. “This gives our citizens more access to officers from different bureaus.” Each of these accounts will post information relevant to their bureaus. Citizens are encouraged to ask questions and get to know the officers that serve the community. These accounts will not be monitored 24/7 and Inspector Googe advises to call 911 in an emergency.
