6 Degrees of Information

Five teens have agreed to participate in an online experiment. They all accept the Facebook friend request of Matt, an Internet researcher. From there, Matt has just six clicks to find out as much as he can about each teen. Some teens are surprised by the results, while others are not. "6 Degrees of Information" encourages teens to ask themselves two questions— "What information is online for people to find?" and "Do I want them to find it?"

On April 28, 2015, a victim reported that her vehicle was broken into while it was parked in the parking lot of ECO Fitness at 627 Johnnie Dodd’s Blvd in the East Cooper Plaza.  The victim in this case had her purse stolen which contained several credit cards and other financial documents.  Shortly after the car break in, a group of unknown individuals began using the victim’s credit cards.  Detectives from the Mount Pleasant Police Department have secured video from one of the businesses and are currently attempting to identify the following three subjects.  The individual in the first photo actually was successful at making a charge with the victim’s credit card.  The other two individuals attempted to use the victim’s credit cards however they were unsuccessful when the sale was denied by store staff because the individuals claimed not to have any identification as the back of the credit card had not been signed.  If you are able to identify the pictured individuals please contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau at 843-884-4176.
