Mount Pleasant, SC – On March 31, 2016 officers responded to the Ravenel Bridge in reference to a shooting that involved two persons. Both individuals passed away as a result of the injuries they sustained. At this point there are no other persons or suspects believed to be involved in this incident. Autopsies are scheduled for this morning and more information will be released after the results are obtained.
The investigation of the scene on the Ravenel Bridge is
complete and will not have an impact on the Cooper River Bridge run scheduled
for tomorrow.
There will be a joint press conference at 3:00pm with
Coroner Rae Wooten and Chief Carl Ritchie. This press conference will be held
at 100 Ann Edwards Lane within the Emergency Operations Center.
