Christmas with the Police
Mount Pleasant, SC – Mount Pleasant Police Officers
are taking 18 children Christmas shopping at noon on December 18, 2015 at
Wal-Mart in Oakland Plantation.
Police officers held a BBQ fundraiser this year to raise money to
take 18 deserving children shopping. These children were identified through the
local elementary schools and will be treated to a shopping trip with Mount
Pleasant Police Officers. “This shopping
trip shows the partnership we have with our community,” says Inspector Chip
Googe. “Officers get to interact with these families in a positive way. They
get to see police officers as people who deeply care about the community they
serve and work hard to preserve a safe haven for their residents.”
Officers have partnered with Wal-Mart in Oakland Market who
provided $2,000 to help make this event possible. McDonalds will also provide lunch
for the children prior to their shopping spree.
