Charleston County Hurricane Michael Update # 3
Charleston County Government has moved to Operational Condition (OPCON) 3, which means a disaster or emergency situation is in effect. Please note these County closings and information:
· All Charleston County Government offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, October 11. That includes the Judicial Complex Downtown.
· All Charleston County Public Library branches will be closed Thursday, October 11. The book drops will be closed during branch closures and we ask patrons to not leave items outside the book drop. Any unsecured items left will be the responsibility of the patron. Please check www.ccpl.org and follow the library on Facebook and Twitter for updates. As a reminder, patrons may still access digital materials by visiting www.ccpl.org/digital-collections.
· The Charleston County Citizens Information will be open until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 11. Citizens can call 843-746-3900, and 843-746-3909 for Spanish.
· DAODAS Charleston Center information:
o All Outpatient services will be suspended for Thursday October 11, 2018. Admissions to Inpatient services-including detox-have been suspended
o All services are expected to resume on Friday October 12, 2018. If you are in need of detox services please seek help at the nearest Hospital Emergency Room.
o The dosing for OTP will resume October 12, 2018 from 6 a.m-1p.m. Please stay tuned to the local news channels or the Charleston County website for updated information. You may also contact the helpline 843-722-0100.
· Tentative Bond Court Schedule
o Thursday, October 11 at 10 a.m.
· Charleston County Recycling
o Curbside recycling services will be suspended Thursday, October 11. Crews are scheduled to pick up Thursday routes Friday weather permitting.
o The Bees Ferry Landfill and convenience centers will be closed Thursday, October 11.
· In-person absentee voting will postponed at Royal Missionary Baptist Church until Friday (or when Charleston County offices are re-opened). Voters can still request absentee ballots regardless of the weather by emailing, mailing, or faxing our office requests. · Charleston County Zoning and Planning
o The W. Gresham Meggett Oral History Project Kick-Off Meeting scheduled for October 11 at 7 p.m. at the W. Gresham Meggett School (Clark Academy) has been postponed. We will let everyone know when a new meeting date has been determined.

· Starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 Charleston County downtown garages at Cumberland and at King and Queen Street will be available for free parking to citizens who live in flood prone areas. Thursday, October 11. Standard rates will apply after 4:00pm on Thursday. Cars parked illegally in the garages will be towed at the owner expense. Charleston County Parking will reevaluate the conditions tomorrow to see if times need to be extended for free parking.
